SIDRA INTERSECTION Licence Types

Professional and Educational licences for SIDRA INTERSECTION include "1PC" (single computer) and "Enterprise" licences. The Educational Licence is for use by educational institutions for teaching and research purposes only. A restricted Trial Licence also exists for the purpose of software evaluation towards a licence purchase decision. The watermarks “EDUCATIONAL LICENCE ONLY” and “TRIAL LICENCE ONLY” will be shown in output reports and displays created under these licences indicating that it is prohibited to use these licences for any income-generating projects.

There are two SIDRA INTERSECTION licence types according to the level of network model functionality allowed as described below:

  • The "PLUS" licence holders will only be able to model Networks with two Sites (intersections). This is available for Professional licences only.
  • The "NETWORK" licence holders will be able to model Networks with up to 20 Sites (intersections) for Professional licences and up to 6 Sites (intersections) for Educational licences. The Enterprise licence incorporates "NETWORK" model functionality.

The "NETWORK" licence type should not be confused with a network-wide software licence! The use of the term "NETWORK" applies to traffic model functionality only.

Thus, SIDRA INTERSECTION Professional licences are described as "PLUS / 1PC", "NETWORK / 1PC" and "NETWORK / ENTERPRISE", and Educational licences are described as "EDU NETWORK / 1PC" and "EDU NETWORK / ENTERPRISE".

Configuring, processing and viewing output for a Network with more than two Sites requires a "NETWORK / 1PC" or "NETWORK / ENTERPRISE" licence. A licence to upgrade from PLUS /1PC licence to a NETWORK / 1PC licence is available. Visit sidrasolutions.com/Store to purchase a new NETWORK / 1PC or NETWORK UPGRADE / 1PC licence.

Restrictions apply when a user with the PLUS / 1PC licence:

  • opens a Project file (sip7) that contains a Network with more than two Sites, or
  • attempts to configure a Network with more than two Sites.

When opening a Project that contains Networks with more than two Sites (created by another user with a NETWORK / 1PC or NETWORK / ENTERPRISE licence), a warning message will be given.

For Networks with more than two Sites, the Network names in the NETWORKS section in the Project pane under the Network tab will be displayed in a different colour. When the Network name is clicked or right-clicked, a warning message will be given.

When using the Network Configuration dialog under the Network tab, adding Sites after the second Site is not allowed for a user with the PLUS / 1PC licence, and adding Sites after the sixth Site is not allowed for a user with an Educational NETWORK / 1PC or NETWORK ENTERPRISE licence. A warning message will be given when this is attempted.

When an existing Network with more than two Sites (created by another user with a NETWORK / 1PC or NETWORK / ENTERPRISE licence, or made available as a template) is selected under the PLUS / 1PC licence:

  • In the ribbon, only the Add, Network Layout, Move Up, Move Down and Delete commands will be available. All other commands, including Process and Process All Networks commands in the ribbon, quick access bar and the Project right click menu, will be blocked.
  • The Network right click function will not be available. Renaming by using the F2 key or clicking the Network name will not be available.
  • In the NETWORK INPUT section of the Project pane, all input dialogs will be blocked.
  • In the SITES IN NETWORK section of the Project pane, the Sites will not be listed (a message will be given instead).
  • The SITE OUTPUT FOR NETWORK section of the Project pane will contain the Diagnostics report only.

Similar conditions apply when an existing Network with more than six Sites is selected under the Educational NETWORK / 1PC or NETWORK ENTERPRISE licence.
