The following FAQs relate to the new FLOATING Licence in SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1.
What happens to my Licence Seat if I close SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1?
Online method – after you close the SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1 software application, the Licence Seat will be released. Another user within your organisation will then be able to acquire the Licence Seat.
Offline method – when it is downloaded, a seat is used from your Licence Seat Pool and will only be released after 24 hours. It will not be released by closing the SIDRA Software or Signing Out from your User Profile.
How long will my online Licence Seat remain active?
Your Licence Seat will remain active as long as the program is running, and your computer is connected to the internet.
If you close the program, the online Licence Seat will be released.
If your internet connection drops out, the online Licence Seat will remain active until it expires within 60 minutes.
What happens to my online Licence Seat if my computer goes to sleep?
If your computer goes into sleep mode while SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1 is running, your Licence Seat will continue to function with the following consequences:
- The licence seat will not be released
- The application will not be able to renew the Licence Seat.
The Licence Seat will automatically expire in 60 minutes after which time another user within your organisation can acquire this Licence Seat.
You should always close SIDRA INTERSECTION when you are finished using it to release the licence seat.
Can I change the Licence Type while using SIDRA INTERSECTION?
Yes. If you change from FLOATING Licence to another Licence Type (such as 1PC) in the Licence Type tab in the Licensing ribbon, the program will release the acquired FLOATING Licence Seat. Another user within your organisation will then be able to acquire the Licence Seat.
What happens to my online Licence Seat if the program updates while I am using it?
If the automatic update option is selected, it will check for new updates then automatically download and install them if they are available. When the program installs a new minor update of SI9.1, the update installation procedure will close the open application automatically. When SI9.1 is closed, the licence seat will be released. What happens to my FLOATING Licence seat if I keep SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1 running?
If you keep SI-9.1 running and lock the computer or leave the computer unattended, your FLOATING Licence seat will still be in use. This means another user within your organisation will not be able to use this Licence Seat.
You should always close SIDRA INTERSECTION when you are finished using it to release the licence seat.
Will my FLOATING Licence work if I sign in to my SIDRA User Profile via my web browser?
Signing in to your SIDRA User Profile via your web browser is different from signing in to your SIDRA User profile via the SIDRA INTERSECTION software.

How does the Stay Signed in option work in SIDRA INTERSECTION?
When you sign in to your SIDRA User Profile via the embedded browser in SIDRA INTERSECTION 9.1 (SI-9.1) or your default browser, an Authorisation Token is generated and will be used by SI-9.1 to acquire a FLOATING Licence on your behalf.
The Authorisation Token will be saved on your computer and will be used the next time when you run SI-9.1. Please note that the Authorisation Token does not include your username or password. Your account credentials are not saved.
An Authorisation Token can be valid for 30 days. If it expires, you will be asked to sign in again.
